Jeff Hlutke, Brass

Jeff Hlutke is an up-and-coming performer and educator in the Northwest, Ohio area. Starting with piano lessons at a very young age and continuing to the trombone in elementary school, music has been a part of Jeff's life for as long as he can remember. Jeff is currently the Brass Instructor at the Black Swamp Fine Arts School in Bowling Green, where he teaches private brass lessons to all ages. He also enjoys an active performing schedule, playing regularly with the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra and community theater orchestras across Northwest Ohio and with the BGSU Trombone Choir. This past summer, Jeff participated in the Third Coast Trombone Retreat, a nationally competitive trombone festival located on the shores of Lake Michigan. He enjoys spending his summers teaching marching bands across the state as a brass technician, and recently student taught with the bands at Sylvania Northview High School. In 2017 Jeff graduate from BGSU with a degree in Music Education and is 2018 he will pursue a Master’s degree in Trombone performance. Private trombone instructors with whom Jeff has studied with include: Garth Simmons, Brittany Lasch and, William Mathis.
