Betsy Williams, Viola, Violin, String Classes, General Education
Betsy Williams is a music educator and arts administrator. She is the Assistant Director and teaches string orchestra, general music, creative movement, and private lessons at the Black Swamp Fine Arts School. Ms. Williams teaches string orchestra and private lessons at Joy Music LLC in Napoleon, OH as well as beginning and intermediate band at TEACH Co-op in Toledo. Past experiences include coordinating the string area of the Music Plus program (an outreach program for inner city students from Toldeo, OH), at BGSU; an arts administration internship with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Academy Week program; teaching an undergraduate music education course for special education majors at Bowling Green State University; serving on staff at the Northern Kentucky University Music Preparatory Department; and teaching with the NKU String Project. In the spring of 2018 Ms. Williams co-presented a session on Entrepreneurship in Arts Education with Sophia Jarrell at the American String Teachers Association National Conference in Atlanta, GA, and also co-presented a session on teaching adult music learners with Dr. Lisa Gruenhagen at the Ohio Music Educators Association State Conference in Columbus, OH. Ms. Williams holds a MM in Music Education from Bowling Green State University, and a BM in Music Education (Summa Cum Laude) from Northern Kentucky University. Ms. Williams has a passion for making quality, affordable string instruction available to everyone in the community. She enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities!
